Good day Steemians! It's me again, the laagan, DarwinTheExplorer. For my next travel diary, I will take you to a new destination that I had visited couple of months ago. The experience was so memorable to me as this was my first out of the country laag! Hehe.. So, without any further introduction, I would like to welcome you to the land of free, THAILAND!
This is the facade of the Grand Palace, one of the famous tourist attractions in Bangkok
I am with my high school teacher and some of her peers. I arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport before 11 AM for our 1 PM flight bound to Singapore. We booked Scoot Air for our flight to Bangkok, Thailand's capital for around P5000. We arrived in Singapore past 5 PM. We had a layover of 5 hours before our flight going to Bangkok. And finally after almost half a day we arrived at Don Mueang International Airport minutes before midnight. By the way, Thailand is 1 hour behind from the Philippines. Then, we took a cab from the airport going to our hostel in Soi 23 in Silom Road. The place was way better than I expected. Each bed has its own charging outlet. That's a plus for me.
The following day, we prepared for our whole day tour all over the city. We rented a mini van good for 13 people for 3500 Baht or P5600 (P1 = 1.6 Baht). I enjoyed the ride. Turistang turista! Hehe...
Our first destination was the Grand Palace. It is the official residence of all the kings of Thailand. Much similar to our very own Malacanang Palace. I was amazed with the area. It was vast. There were a lot of beautiful temples and museums to take picture of. I loved their architecture. I got mesmerized when I saw these picturesque creations. Thai's work ethics is really commendable. The whole experience was just wow!
These are some of the temples, museums, government offices situated near the Grand Palace
That's it guys! Our visit was short because we had a limited time for this tour and we still needed to go to other historical landmarks and tourist destinations in Thailand. See you all in my next Bangkok travel adventure. By the way, Sah Wah Dee Khrap is Hello in Thai. Just like our MABUHAY!
I hope you enjoy this travel blog. Thank you to all my Steemian friends for always supporting my stories.
Tara! Kuyug na pud ta!
