It was time to get off the strip for a little while and head on down to Fremont Street in the downtown area. The goal was to try and hit as many of the casinos as possible in a single trip down there. There is something like 16 casinos down there.
If I thought the Vegas strip was wild, it’s got nothing on Fremont. At the very least Fremont, while quite a wild place, had some rules in place that I rather enjoyed. For instance, there were these yellow circles on the ground. If you wanted to perform, draw people, or whatever within reason. You did so from within the yellow circles. Those designated spots kept what would have been chaos rather reasonable.
I ended up going down downtown during the night. It ended up being a little too late to try and hit every casino down there. Even more so since I wanted a player's card from as many of them as I could, and it turns out they all close for the night at some point.
While it might have been possible to walk down to Fremont Street. It was a lot further than I was willing to hope the GPS would be somewhat correct in footpaths. So, this ended up being a taxi to and from. While there are buses, I never quite worked out how they work. Those buses also stop at every casino so it would have taken ages anyway. Assuming they even ran this far out.
The taxi ended up dropping me off at the Golden Nugget. I have played at a Golden Nugget in the past in Atlantic City, so I did not need to wait around to get a player's club. I ended up jumping onto an ocean magic machine and landing some decent line hits.
While there is ocean magic at my local it is a two-cent machine which makes it on a good day a little too rich for me to play. I’m rather glad I ended up finding a more budget-friendly 1 center machine to play on. As it’s a game enjoy but never get to gamble long on.
I then went off to play some Kronos. I ended up getting several decent line hits and even the bonus twice. I ended up tripling what I put into the machine. It would have been more, but I decided to let it ride for a little while and gave some of my winnings back before moving on to a few other slot machines before leaving the golden nugget.
Along Fremont Street is this massive tunnel that has all kinds of crazy graphics going across the street. The later into the night it got the louder this place ended up getting. At some points, I was more thrilled with how few steps it took to make it from one casino to the next just to get away from the noise.
It was, however, fun to stand around and watch what the screen would change into. At one point it was this underwater feature. The crowd seemed to love it when it was transformed into this. I felt it was quite neat to see and experience it in person.
Then came the part of the night I had no clue where I was gambling at. I just went from player club to player club getting a card, trying to get any free play out of the casino I could and more or less moved on. It was quite a wild and fun night. Unlike the strip which is controlled by mostly two different corporations. Many of the casinos in the downtown were independent of each other. Granted a couple of them were owned by a single entity that I would end up finding out later at night when player's clubs started to close down and realized some of my cards worked at more than one casino.
I did end up going to The D, El Cortex, Fremont, Binion’s Four Queens, Golden Nugget, Golden Gate, Plaza, and who knows where else. Not quite all of them but it was quite a wild thing to attempt them all in a single night.
There were also some points where I was having so much fun in a particle casino that I was sitting in it for hours. While I did a fair amount of gambling down on the Vegas Strip. I never really just got to sit around and play like I was with the much looser slots that the downtown had.
I ended up racking up over 5 features on whatever this slot was. It was loud and it had a few different bonuses that made it even more fun. I ended up walking away with over $100 on this slot alone. While none of the wins were huge it sometimes only took a couple of spins before my next feature.
It is also hard for me to turn down things like fireball links. My bonus on it was not that amazing. It was, however, at least a bonus. Anytime I can walk away from a slot near broken even or hopefully up I’m more than thrilled if I get to spend some time playing the machine first.
Sometimes I’d just check out what slots a casino had spin on a couple of them and head off to the next one. I was hoping there would be some old gems downtown. Other times, I ended up in areas of the downtown I was more interested in exploring if they were not as wild as the main road was.
At some point, I found myself in a casino that had Brian Christopher’s room. I might have been at Binion’s, I’m not quite sure. I think his room they even called it a different casino oddly enough. While I’m not the biggest fan of him his room did have some games, I’ve always wanted to play but they are usually on $1 denomination and in his room, they were twenty-five cent demon instead. Making it at least possible for me to get a couple of spins on them.
One of those games ended up being top dollar. I ended up getting top dollar but not a huge win. They keep the screens in this room quite clean, so it was extremely reflective which is why I’m not sharing any photos of any wins.
At least Brian Christopher’s room had some bonus things going on for it. I ended up playing enough in there to get the bracelet that people go insane over. I ended up gifting it to someone who is a much bigger fan of his than I am.
I also noticed I was getting a lot more points in that room. It even had an attendant who signed me up for a player's card and handed out the bracelet for those who played enough in the room.
It also seems once I claimed the bracelet that I suddenly unlocked a bunch of freebies from the casino as well. Stuff I thought would have taken me a few hours or even a day to get. I ended up getting some free play at table games and some other stuff as well.
I then back out once again downtown. I stopped by quickly at 4 Queen. At this point, it was getting quite late into the night so I was more on the hunt for some different slots than I tend to play and any free play I could get my hands on.
At one point I was starting to get a bit hungry and even found some crazy-looking donuts place in one of the casinos. I however did not want to lug around a box of a dozen donuts. They were going to be open late, so I had plans to return for the donuts. About an hour later I had forgotten what casino the donuts shop was even in let alone where along the downtown it was at.
Final Thoughts
At around 2 AM I started to notice for a party place the crowd was quite dying down. It was perhaps edging more towards 3 AM when there were street cleaners out. This was when I started to get a bit concerned about finding a taxi to take me back to the Vegas strip.
After waiting around for a bit and getting pointed in the direction that the last remaining taxis were being sent to. I ended up finding a ride back to the hotel. I was also that person's last pick-up for the night. It also seemed like it was one of the last taxis to be leaving the downtown area. I was quite shocked by how hopping of a place it was just shut down like that almost out of nowhere.
If I was ever to go back, I think I’d rather stay downtown than the Vegas strip. It was just a lot more fun. I don’t care too much for the glimmer and tighter slot play that tends to be on the Vegas Strip. It was also kind of nice they were smaller casinos but not as far apart to get to when I wanted to go elsewhere.

What a beautiful place, I have never been to a casino, If I had money I would wake up there hahaha
Best thing to remember. Places like this are not built on winners. They are built on losers. With that said it is quite a crazy and loud place.
The truth is that it is a place with too many people and busy, I think the noise would make me sick after a few hours hahaha
