Inong Balee Fort is a bastion of Aceh Darussalam royal period which in its time was one of the glorious kingdoms in Southeast Asia.

Malahayati became the initiator and commander of the legendary Inong Balee Laskar, who became the origin of the name of this fort. Gait Malahayati as a successful woman as military commander and diplomat, has been recognized and recorded in the history of various nations.
