Let's Travel! Delphi, Greece

in #travel7 years ago

An awesome traditional greek dinner. It was an evening filled with food, music, dance, awesome people and wonderful performerce. The highlight of the night was the traditional plate breaking/throwing followed by Opa! (Greek: Ώπα) is a common Greek verbal emotional expression used frequently during celebrations such as weddings or dancing in Greece. In Greek culture, the expression sometimes accompanies purposeful or unintentional plate smashing.

The beautiful scenery on the top of the mountain in Delphi, Greece. It was a crazy bus ride to get to our destination, but in the end it was worth every second. :)

Athenian Treasury at Temple of Apollo in Delphi, Greece. This  structure was breath taking and it gave me the feeling that I was in ancient times.

Gorgeous pieces of gold that were excavated.

Over looking photo as we are going down the mountain. The view gives me chills seeing this beautiful place, I could not believe I was able to visit Greece I only see them on television when I was little. It was an amazing trip and unforgettable.

Kleobis and Biton.

The Charioteer of Delphi, also known as Heniokhos, is one of the best-known statues surviving from Ancient Greece, I could not believe that I  was able to admire it in person. on top of that, the story behind its discovery gave me more curiosity. Then when we came home from our trip to Greece I did alot of research and watched so many documentaries. Me and my family would love to come back to Greece where you could have the vibes of being in the ancient times.
