Oh this post. We recently had a young couple (one was a local) proudly talking about how they were on a journey of love that transcended money and wanted to be an example to the world about giving, generousity and love etc. Let's just say that they received a very very negative response: "free loaders", "entitled" etc. They were very suprised by the reaction; but it's good their illusions were shattered.
We citizens fight to keep many facilities free against a creeping "user pays" mentality. This is both to preserve our own freedom (don't look for the cash register, you already paid the taxman) and so that fellow citizens that don't have the same resources can still have access to activities and things. So, entitled people and esp. entitled free loaders really annoy us.

Maybe because we want things to be fair. People, even the ones who couldn't afford to travel, pay to have access to activities and things.
"Fair" that's quite the conversation :)
