Pushkarikha is a village in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region. It is part of the Mardenga rural settlement. The distance by road to the regional center of Veliky Ustyug is 9 km, to the center of the municipality of the Annunciation - 6 km.
All villages of this corner are located in approximately similar places: a low hill, near a stream, behind a field, remoteness from a large road. Only the location of houses and streets makes them unique.
More than ten people constantly live in Pushkarikha. Dogs barking can be heard from far away. It smells of fragrant smoke from the chimney. A tractor with a trailer drove by.
Behind the village is a sawmill.
There is a measured rural life.
Of course, many houses are used as dachas only in the summer.
But here I did not see a single abandoned house!
Except for one that has long been turned into ruins.
At the very entrance to the village there are two small, single-storey panel huts for two apartments. Both houses are residential. The area around is well-groomed.
Behind a small alley, elements of a playground are visible - a basketball hoop and a swing.
Pushkarikha seemed to me such a cozy secluded place.
But, for some reason, I would not want to live here.
Something was missing here when I visiting this place. I was here for the first time in the summer of that year: I just drove by car, turned around and left without making a single frame. Well, let's say it was exploring. Now I fully felt the atmosphere of this village and also was not impressed.
Maybe it seemed to me a small number of houses.
Maybe the place is not as ancient as the others.
Or maybe the whole cosiness of a secluded place spoils the nearby power-saw bench. Although she is not visible from the village at all. In general, I don’t know...
Most importantly, I am now familiar with this place.
And also somewhere nearby is an abandoned holiday village. You must definitely go there! As soon as more snow falls (and the one in the photo has already melted), I will certainly go there.
Wow, i think its really cool of you showing us others a piece of real rural life in Russia, and some really good pictures! I must admit that i agree with your sentiment tough, this might not be the place i would settle down, but i think there are some interesting views/frames to paint there tough!

Thank you for your feedback!
Yes, rural life in Russia is different, but in our area this is a classic example.

This snow has already melted. But winter is near and soon snow will fall, which will last for the whole winter
