It's hard to find gyms with good quality equipment at a good price. Swequity is the number one gym in Hanoi, in my opinion. I'm here at 6AM every morning through the workweek. It's basically empty and I have the whole place to myself- awesome!
They've got a full set of dumbbells that go up to 50kg. The best part is that people return the dumbbells to the rack in the proper order- tremendous!
They have a sturdy platform that people use for olympic lifts.
Nice art work on the walls. And there are many women who do powerlifting here. People are really cool and serious about training.
There are 4 wall mounted racks and 2 power racks. All are Rogue equipment and plates. The barbells are Rogue Ohio Power bars.
Multiple deadlift platforms.
Here you can see the power racks. They also have many adjustable benches and traditional bench, incline, and decline bench.
They pay attention to detail. This is the reverse weighted hyperextension machine invented by Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell in Columbus, OH (considered one of the strongest gyms in the world). This machine strengthens your posterior chain while at the same time releases some of the compression in the spine. It feels great and is a rare piece of gym equipment. Joe Rogan talks about it on his podcast- he owns one at his home gym.
A couple hanging bags.
They also have battle ropes, farmer's carry bars, push sleds, a prowler, and a heavy tire.
It's only 200,000 VND for a day pass or about $9 USD. For my yearly membership it's $350 USD. They also have a towel service, water, protein shakes, fresh coconut water, and nice clean locker rooms.
Swequity is located on the 10th floor of Hanoi Creative City tower, which is a pretty interesting location that holds music and art events. Swequity is responsible for bringing powerlifting to Hanoi and holds a competition annually.
