One of the great things about international travel is the opportunity to spend time with people at the local open markets. From the floating markets of Thailand to the city markets of Taiwan or Hong Kong; there is always something new to eat, and quality food to take home. Exploring is not just about being a tourist but about experiencing life with local people, and that means food. It's alway enjoyable, interesting, and even surprising to see what other cultures around the world have used and developed over time.
Shopping at the Tsukiji Market (築地市場) in Tokyo Japan
Fresh Parrot Fish at a traditional seafood wet market in Batangas Philippines
Dried cuttlefish snacks at the coastal markets in Keelung Taiwan
Hong Kong night market with many international selections.
Damnoen Saduak the Floating Markets of Thailand
Fresh Oysters are plentiful at Liuhe Night Market, Kaohsiung Taiwan
"One Fishcake please" at Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo Japan
Fresh fish at the local Taiwan morning market, which one do I choose?
Bartering on the Damnoen Saduak Floating River Market in Thailand
During your next adventure try to make some extra time to visit a few open markets, and experience the sites, and sound of local life while enjoying some great food along the way.
