Greetings my fellow steemians. Just wanted to make a quick post. I must be honest, this is my vacation and I'm in super vacation mode. What is vacation mode for me? Surf, eat, cold beer, sleep, lounging.
At first, and at times, doing nothing can be difficult on the mind. I often feel like I'm worthless, useless or a bum if I'm not working. But then I have to remember, it's ok to do nothing for a little bit. It's a great way to recharge and just enjoy your time on your own rules. I like to keep to myself while on vacation mostly. Unless I'm with a solid travel partner that is. This time around. I'm flying solo. Ok ok, enough rambles. Let me show you wonderful steemites just a few pictures from my current recharge stage.
It involves:
- taking it easy
- watching sunsets
- listening/watching the ocean
- surf
- food
Things are a bit pricier out here. And although it's a bummer, that's the case. No sense complaining. So I tend to cook a bit more often which I actually quite enjoy. Here are some eggs, onions, garlic, salsa, refried beans and hot sauce. All to be wrapped up in a spinach wrap. Quite delicious if I do say so myself. Along with a hot cup of yerba mate (which was brewed in the coffee pot).
There are so many beautiful places to stop and just enjoy the beauty and power of nature, especially the wind and water.
Two nights this week I found myself on the west side for some beautiful sunsets and introspection.
One should ideally enjoy ones work so much as to not consider it work, more just an extension of life. If it is not enjoyable you should seek another avenue of activity.
NEVER think you are a bum if not working... that is nonesense. Think though if you were a successful crypto dealer you could make enough money in a couple of hours to taking you surfing for weeks.no guilt no nothing just money and fun. Don't believe anyone who takes life too seriously - it IS for enjoying.
Enjoy your physical rest in Hawaii - I can't think of a better place. I hope you are getting some sick waves too in between chilling in the sun xx

I too am a busy bee. I constantly feel the need to be doing work and making myself feel productive, otherwise I see every moment that I don't as a waste. But you're right, it's okay to take a break.
Last summer, I spent an entire week just napping on the ocean shores and I can honestly say it was the most relaxing vacation I ever had (and I didn't consider it to be a waste of time).

This is true, to be honest I've only ever been to Oahu :(
How do you like it? I think that's the island that rains the most?
I may be mistaken but I think Kauai gets the most rain.
