Un po’ di storia Romana:
L’arco fu dedicato dal senato all’imperatore Costantino I per commemorare il trionfo(arco trionfale) nella battaglia di Ponte Milvio contro Massenzio , innaugurato nel 315 per i 10 anni di regno.

Flavio Valerio Costantino figlio di Costanzo Cloro nato nel 274 e imperatore Romano dal 306 al 337
