Sunsets in Rio de Janeiro are truly beautiful as you watch the sky turn into bright oranges and reds, the sea glisten in the last light of the day and the mountains forming an impressive dark backdrop to the city.
As much as I loved Rio I was ready to to go after about 7 days. I wish I would have explored more but I stayed in Rio the entire time. I think 5 days is good and leave another 5 to see other parts. Street markets are very common. I would randomly find one every day. I ran into 2 Americans my whole trip. After carnival there's no tourists really so that means less crowds and cheaper prices. I got a round trip from Dallas for 700. As far as befriending I used Tindr a lot and apparently I look Brazilian so that helps. But I even made friends with my uber drivers. Just be sociable and nice. They love to show their city.
I would say the social culture really helps over there. Whilst I was there we made friends with loads of locals just by saying hi, either us or them, if they said Hi they'd usually ask where we from and go from there, or if it was us then we'd ask for some advice or something. Brazillians are really friendly. Here i shared some beautiful photos of Rio De Janeiro.
