First Stop Seminyak - less tourists more flair
First we were in the „Potato Head Beach Club“, drank a tropical Cocktail with an amazing view of the sea. The waves invited immediately for surfing. So let’s go to Kuta and let the lessons begin. It was very exhausting but we had a lot of fun. We traded our surfing lessons at 350,000 Rp. (25€ for 2 persons) including two guides and a complete equipment. It’s important to know that in Bali you always have to trade, especially in a tourist area.
If you ask yourself before your journey: Kuta yes or no? We recommend you: a stay for one or two days is absolutely enough. There are many restaurants, bars and party locations. At the same time it‘s crowded by tourists, taxis or souvenir sellers. Compared to this, Seminyak was just the right mix for us. On our last evening we ate in a local restaurant called „The Luhron“ – delicious food and small prices. After that we went to the „Mirror“ – an old church rebuilt to a nightclub. There were many locals. Unfortunately the club was very snobby, so we moved on to a Jazz Club. The Paris Jazz Club is the first Jazz Club in Bali. The musicians, the atmosphere, the rooftop and also the service were incredible – a must-have in Seminyak.
