Photos of memories of the tsunami in Aceh

in #travel7 years ago

little history of floating PLTD vessels stranded to the mainland due to the tsunami.

A few days ago I was with family visiting the historic site in Banda aceh. The name of the site is a power station ship. Before the tsunami struck Aceh, this ship was in the sea. This ship is a diesel power plant.
The existence of this ship is to anticipate the electrical disruption that occurred in Aceh, because at that time there was a conflict between the national army with (GAM) the free Aceh movement. so many electric towers are collapsed by irresponsible parties.
When the tsunami occurred in 2004, the ship was dragged to the mainland approximately 6 kilometers and stranded into the village punge blangcut. The ship's engine was not badly damaged, by the state electricity company planning to return the ship to the sea, but by the Aceh government at that time prohibited the return of the ship to sea, the government intends to make this ship as a tourist place, so the state electricity company just picked up a machine that is still good. until now this place used as a place of tourism.
