Geirangerfjorden in The Morning
The infamous, the one and only, the Geiranger fjord.
This fjord stretches 15km, its over 250m deep and the tallest mountain peak in 1700m, this place receives over 600 000 tourists each summer, there have even been a movie made of this fjord, The Wave.
Huge cruise ships travel to Geiranger in the end of this fjord every day. You can see one of the ships in the first picture, the ship is almost bigger than all of Geiranger.
Pictures from the other side of the fjord, if you look closely you can see the hair pinned road in the mountain shadow to the right of the ship.

It's summer, it's abnormally hot outside, and still there is snow/ice on the mountain tops

Nydelege landskapsbilete frå Geiranger @Flatman
Takk for det @Siggjo :)
Impressive huge mountains and beutiful Fijord between them, the human must feels himself so helpless and tiny like an ant. I notice that ferry, in compare to size of mountians look really like a tiny toy-ship.
Thank you for nice pictures and little video :)
The mountains and the fjord are impressive, and the ferry as you call it is actually a HUGE cruise ship, I did some research and found that there are only two cruise ships going into this fjord today, both ships have 2500-3500 people on them, and it still looks like a tiny toy boat
I can even specify the name of the cruiseship: Either "Mein Schiff 4 " or "Mein Schiff 5". I have seen them in Trondheim as well.
It is kind of sad that these big ships have such a high emission and intervene in the breathtaking fjordlandscape.
Look at this exhaust cloud!!
the question is would it be better if those ~3000people will travel by car/camper?
Wow, difficult to imagine, I think if you are close to that cruise ship them the human being is like an ant, everything is relative :) Thank you for information and research.
Very beautiful places and fjords
