After the Anarchapulco event I stayed in Mexico with my dad and traveled to the mysterious Real de Catorce - an old silver mining village and the secret Peyote capital of the world. Everything at that place is about the magical cactus and the tradition of the Huicholes natives who work with the psychodelic plant medicine as long as they can look back. My father used to live there about twenty years ago and had a powerful secret cave in the Sierra de Catorce. We went into the desert by foot on a quest to find his cave again. And so we did. I have not included the cave footage in this video though but our entire journey back and forth.
Warning: we did not find any Peyote as we decided to stay on a higher altitude. It was intense enough as it was. :)

Ja, das Video gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut! Ich habe einen guten Eindruck bekommen. Aber es ist mehr als 20 Jahre her, daß Guy dort war. Ein meditatives Erlebnis für Euch beide!
Stimmt: 1995-1997. Aber wer zählt das schon so genau? ;)
He he, 95 warst Du 15. Es war deutlich länger her, aber Du hast Recht: was sind die Jahre im Angesicht des Universums... :-)
Wow what an oustanding place! When you passed the tunnel those little kids were looking at you like you were an alien, also you look a lot like your dad! Im looking forward to see how you will obtain your land in Costa Rica and what you will do with it! Maybe a hostel that you pay exclusively with cryptocurrency :D
Haha, I have to check out the video once more to find those little kids. :D
The land in Costa Rica will be a Steem-land, partly open for the public to find healing and spiritual growth. It will be epic with sacred geometry and tons of eadibles and pure water. But first I need to make more money and hope for the crypto market to go up. I guess we have that all in common. ;)
Simply breathtaking my friend, I especially loved all the flora and fauna and your journey through the mountain is something else! .. Thank you for sharing your journey. I can really relate to your desire to return to the land .. it has long been a dream of mine and I hope that one day I will be able to make it a reality. Thanks again @flauwy
Please stay tuned for my next post as it will be of highest interest particularly to you. It is about my most spiritual moment in my life which just took place in Acapulco. I still wonder whether I should share it but I think that is my journey - to share moments like that to inspire others to follow their own magical paths.
i love mexico! its literally home away from home for me!
Loving your adventures! safe travels!
check out my latest post from guatemala!

I want to visit Guatemala! It sounds like a great place. How safe do you think it is for a gringo like me to go there? I guess it is always as safe as you think it is. Mind over matter. :)
Your dad lived in a cave for 1 1/2 years @flauwy. That's amazing! I'd love to hear more of your family story. 😊
What a fun trip to take with your dad after the conference. Thanks for making the video it was great to share it with you and to see a very different side of Mexico, i.e. not the coast or big cities.
That tunnel is amazing, especially as it was built by hand. The two sides look quite different.
Glad the trip helped you consolidate what you want for youself from here. I look forward to seeing more of your journey.
The next part will come out of the jungle in the peruvian Amazon! From Peyote capital to Ayahuasca capital. ;)
Most. Epic. Thumbnail. Ever
But on a serious note - thank you for sharing your journey with us, flauwy! I really appreciate that!
It was really cool to make this video and thumbnail. I did it (nearly) all on my phone with the Premiere Pro and Photoshop apps. Just the final touch with the DTube logo and the thumbnail text was done on my PC. I am glad you appreciate it. :)
That was an epic journey. Your father lived in a cave in the desert? The goat farm was amazing and their house built into the rocks. People that live off the land are humble people and they understand life. It must have been a shock for them to see your dad after all this time. Thanks for sharing the journey.
It was indeed a great reunion for them after all these years but they never forgot him. I am nearly crying just thinking about how much they welcomed us. Incredible people. Fun fact: They have two smart phones and are on Whatsapp and Facebook. But they have to climb the mountain nearby to get mobile receiption. ;)
Ha ha... they need to climb the mountain and signup for Steemit! Their goats are so cute and the chicken in the tree!
Yeah, I should have told them about it. But to be honest, they live such a rural and simple life that was just not coming to my mind. But I have their contact details and might send them a link or something.
I understand at the moment it probably seemed insignificant. One more thing I forgot to mention was the donkeys... they looked so chilled and awesome. You had to ride them down the mountain to get to a pickup truck?
We took one of them to carry our stuff UP the mountain where the pickup truck was waiting in the middle of nowhere. :D
your dad looks younger than you
Lol, good for him - I guess. ;)
Like because u remind me "Indiana Jones" :-D
-D
Very nice
Take Care
P&U
Cool, when I was a kid I always wanted to be like Indy. I love the fact you point that out. Thanks for that!
Great views, lovely plants, and YOUR DAD LIVED IN A CAVE FOR A YEAR AND HALF!?!
WHO DOES THAT?!?!
Goat cheese farm, blech!
Did they have a well, or haul their water in?
They have a well. The cheese was pretty good for what it is.
And yeah, my dad lived like that. I would not do that but I am glad he did as it made him the man he is today. :)
Have some more peyote and cheese, you may move into a cave yet!
I honestly doubt that. I am a very comfortable person. ;)
Nice hat! lol I'm surprised you guys traveled by foot. I think horseback motorcycle or car is definitely the way to go over medium distances. Great Travel video!
It was intense as you could see in the video. The distance wasn't that great though. Horse would have been great but I am glad we did it by foot. Luckily we got a ride for the way back. :D
You kind of looked like a cowboy with that hat. lol
Mexico is the wonderful country in the world..Mexico maximum people friendly and cooperative..
Really great country. Although people in Costa Rica are much nicer than anybody else around the world. ;)
the journey continues after that and this was more exciting to watch looking great there :D
Thanks ;)
