Two days in Disneyland Paris!

Disneyland Paris offers a unique opportunity. You get the wonder of Disneyland, and the luxury of being close to the beautiful city of Paris. But does how do the two parks in Disneyland Paris compare to their partners at Disney World in Florida?

Two Parks - Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios

Walt Disney Studios is analogous to the Hollywood Studios in Florida

Walt Disney Studios features some of the time-tested classics such as the Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith’s Rockin’ Roller Coaster, both of which I have been a fan of for many years in Disney World, so I was happy to see them here!

They have a new featured attraction area for the Ratatouille movie, which is appropriate for the setting!

The live performance Mickey and The Magician was fantastic! It was in a Fantasia-type story. This time Mickey is visited by several prominent Disney movie characters and their musical numbers; including Rafiki from The Lion King, Elsa from Frozen, and Aladdin’s Genie! The show was charming, and interestingly the dialog was half in French and half in English.

Disneyland Park is the Magic Kingdom’s younger sibling

The Disneyland Park has a similar layout and features to the Magic Kingdom. It introduces you to a town square and road full of shops before opening up to the Castle and several themed areas (pictured above).

Again, we see some repeats of time-honored rides such as Thunder Mountain roller coaster, It’s A Small World, Buzz Lightyear, and Space Mountain – very nice to be in familiar ground!

Star Wars

It is a great time to be a Star Wars fan in Disney right now. They are featuring new shows and rides to promote their new movies. They even re-branded the Space Mountain to be called Hyperspace Mountain, with some new decorations on the inside and outside of the ride!

Star Wars character appearances were a common site!

Parade

The parade was a spectacular sight, if you can fight to get a good view! I particularly liked how many of the floats had a creative Steampunk look to them.

Illuminations Night Show

At sundown in the Disneyland Park they feature the illuminations show, where they essentially turn the castle into a massive projector screen and project themed animations and music. There are some modest fireworks here!

Conclusion

I was pleasantly surprised by Disneyland Paris. Having been to Disney World several times, I think this is a great way to experience the magic of Disney if you are in Europe!
