Today was an incredible day for me! I live in Hoi An almost 1.5 months now and record all kind of sounds like ambient, foley or people for example.
This time I went out for a nature sound because I needed a water sound for a friend who works in post-production. Around Hoi An is it hard to find this kind of soundscape because you have just to much construction going on and it ruins your audio.
Another reason is that I needed a little bit more water power in the recording and I found the perfect spot for it and I would say this could be an insider tip. I haven't seen any tourists out here or recommendations on TripAdvisor.
I drove 1.5 hours to the Hiep Duc district and my destination was the lake of Viet An. If you planning on visiting this place, you will be amazed by the nature and the dam. Everything is so green and peaceful far away from the buzzing city of Da Nang or Hoi An. You will be pretty much alone out there and you can really enjoy the nature.
Here is the exact location.

A Hole In The Door!!!
The dam itself was built in 2000 and has a water surface of 182 hectares. Farmers of the area Hiep Duc, Que Son and Thang Binh are using the water for the rice fields and there just everywhere around this area. Sadly while I was recording it started to rain so I couldn't walk along the lake but it is possible to do that and explore the thick forest that surrounds the lake.
I guess I missed some really interesting bird sounds but maybe next time but I am super happy with the water recording and it turned out great will be #royaltyfree available on my website pretty soon.
So if you planning on visiting Hoi An or Da Nang and you have your own scooter you have to come out here. One thing what I noticed immediately was the fresh air and the curiosity of the people along my way but super friendly.
Thats me :)!
