Out and About in Bukidnon pt.2 (A Travel Blog)

in #travel4 years ago
Hello everyone! On my recent post, I shared about the first half of our short vacation during the first months of the community country. Now, I will share to you the other half of what happened. I could not say that the second day of our mini vacation was as exciting as the first. On the second day, we did not get lost but rather we were able to visit some other places.

Since Bukidnon is pretty elevated because it is situated in the mountains, I got to sleep so early. The ointMent that my Auntie Fe gave me even KOd me. That product was indeed very effective. Even in the morning, the place was pretty cold that I need to put my jacket.

First thing in the morning before we had our breakfast was that we were able to have a stroll around RR Resort (located at Maramag, Bukidnon). The place is huge for me and it even has its own forests with pine trees.

As you can see on the photos below, the place is great for sunrise and sunset viewing. I am sorry if I was on my pajamas and that I just looked like I woke up, because seriously, I just really woke up when everyone, except Athena and I, decided to have a morning stroll on their mini forest and took time to be amazed on the view of Pulangui River.

The view looks so perfect to me that I attempted to paint it using watercolor. One of these days, I am going to share to you what I made.

The forest looks so nice and nothing spooky about it at all in the morning. I just do not know if whether or not people would freak out while strong inside it at night. But I guess the authorities would not allow anyone to scroll the place at night.

For breakfast, since we brought some utensils, we just cooked the food that we brought yesterday such as the hotdog, prawns, and then fish. It was really a good idea to bring an ice bucket because we were able to store some meat including the fish that we had for our breakfast.

Auntie Belen, Athena's mom, asked us if we would like to take a dip in the pool but we rejected the idea because we were so tired on the yesterday's trip that as much as possible we do not want to consume a lot of energy in swimming.

Cafe sa Bukid , Lantapan Bukidnon

After fixing our stuff, we decided to head to our first destination for that day. It was on this cafe around Lantapan, Bukidnon. It is known as Cafe sa Bukid. It only took us less that an hour before we arrived at the venue. We were then so glad that the place was not filled with people or else we need to wait for quite a while.

When we arrived, most of the people who were around were riders. A lot of them were from Cagayan de Oro city and decided to took the route heading to Bukidnon. I cannot blame them if they want to have a stopover on this cafe since the cafe is really a great place to spend time with your friends and family. They do not just have a wonderfully crafted wooden building, but they also serve a variety of pamainit-- something that is eaten for breakfast or if you want your stomach not to feel cold.

As you can see, the view of the cafe is just so majestic as well. At the back, you can see the farmers working in a fine Sunday morning. You can also see the majestic mountain range. The cafe also have a small area to grow their own strawberries that they sell for a very reasonable price, a pack for 2USD or just for 100Php. They even sell wild raw honey, bamboo straw, jams, and a lot more. If I was able to bring a lot of money with me, I could have bought a lot of stuff.

For breakfast, we had some sikwate, Philippines' version of its chocolate drink from the seed of Cacao fruit. We also had some sapin-sapin, a type of rice cake. Lastly, Athena ordered a toast for us both.

We spent some time eating and enjoying the place before we sent Auntie Fe back to the boarding house where she had been staying while she is in Bukidnon.

A Restaurant in Manolo Fortich or was it near Manolo Fortich'

Since it was past lunch time when we arrived at Manolo Fortich, Auntie Belen and Uncle Jojo decided to have a detour at Del Monte's Clubhouse for lunch. Unfortunately their restaurant is only open for take-outs that is why they just decided to order some food and take our lunch on their truck.

It was an amazing experience though because it felt that I was one with nature while enjoying the burger that they bought for me and some of the hotdogs that were left from breakfast.

While heading home, we also had another stop over along the Mangima Road so that we could enjoy the view on some parts of Bukidnon.

Those days were just really amazing and I hope that pharmaceutical companies would soon be able to manufacture enough vaccines for everyone so that we could go back to our normal lives and enjoy those little things in life such as travelling with our loved ones.

Lots of love,
Johanna Gail
