Travel with me – To Skipton for a very British fish and chips lunch (photographs)

in #travel7 years ago

Hi Steemians,

Over the weekend we decided to visit the market town of Skipton for lunch and a wonder around the shops and market. The town is located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in North Yorkshire, England and naturally on the menu was the most obvious English of choices - fish and chips!

Skipton is a popular destination for tourists as it is a great place to use as a base to explore the Yorkshire Dales. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs through Skipton and you are able to hire narrow boats should you wish. We didn’t on this occasion as we were hungry and headed straight for the fish and chip fish and chip restaurant.

The great British cuisine choice of fish (cod) and chips and scampi and chips were promptly ordered along with the obligatory cup of tea as liquid refreshment.

The food was excellent

After we had settled the bill there was time for a wander around the shops. As a historic town there are plenty of narrow streets with many independent retailers selling all manner of curios.

We didn’t venture up to the castle today (a day trip to do in the future) but had a wonderful day just ambling around.

Bye for now - and have fun! 😎

Nice post, I really have to stop reading all these great travelposts on steemit, they all make it seem like I have to travel the whole damn world :P

We DO! We SHOULD! We could??? LOL

Haha we definitelly should! Everybody should travel as much as possible to widen their horizon.
But there are these two annoying things that keep getting between me and traveling the world. They are called money and time...

But if steemit keeps being awesome I might have enough money to travel :P

Indeed indeed @bypaul!

I'm going hard into Steem Power investing so that I can start taking advantage of those healthy digits you get for posting...that's my New Year's resolution plans for SteemIt in 2018 LOL!
