Not sure that once in front of the following bridges you will dare to cross! From the highest to the highest, from the most terrifying to the most spectacular, these 13 bridges are the most extreme in the world. Caution vertigo assured!
Royal Gorge Bridge (USA)
Here is the highest suspension bridge in the United States. It is located in the state of Colorado, near Canyon City and one thing is certain: with its 291 meters high, the Royal Gorge Bridge stands in front of our Millau Viaduct (277 m).
The Eshima Bridge (Japan)
No it is not a roller coaster, but a traffic lane connecting the cities of Matsue and Sakaiminato in Japan. It is in the interest of drivers to buckle tightly to cross this strange bridge.
The Vitim River Bridge (Russia)
600 m of wooden planks and just space for a car. This bridge across the Vitim River in Siberia is certainly the least reassuring in the world. One might even think that it is in a state of abandonment, yet vehicles use it every day to cross from one bank to the other.
The Trift Bridge (Switzerland)
In the heart of the Alps, this pedestrian only suspension bridge is one of the most spectacular in the world because it overlooks a glacier 100 m high. To access it, take a cable car with a breathtaking view of the gorge.
Langkawi Sky Bridge (Malaysia)
If you suffer from vertigo, go your way! Only accessible on foot, the world's highest bridge is 700 meters above the lush Malaysian jungle. Better not to be afraid of emptiness.
The Beipanjiang Bridge (China)
How to connect two cities without having to go around a mountain range? By creating the highest accessible bridge to cars on the planet. At 5,065 meters above the river, we pray that this bridge is solid!
Shiniuzhai Park Glass Bridge (China)
Guaranteed chills on this glass bridge in the Chinese province of Hunan. At 180 meters high, visitors advance on glass slabs and must be damn brave not to close their eyes!
The Koh Pen Bridge (Cambodia)
Built entirely of bamboo, this bridge is still in service to cross the waters of the Mekong from the shores of Kampong Cham to the island of Koh Pen. Every year, at the beginning of each rainy season, the bridge is dismounted by hand and the materials are stored until the reconstruction of the new bridge after the rising waters.
Capilano Suspension Bridge (Canada)
It takes a good deal of courage to dare to cross this monkey bridge and its 140 meters in length and many are coming to the North Vancouver area in Canada to try the experiment.
Mackinac Bridge Michigan (USA)
At 8 kilometers, it is the second longest suspension bridge in the world. It connects the northern peninsula of Michigan to the south, and its crossing is so scary to some people that the administration of the bridge offers a pilot service to get behind the wheel in place of drivers panicked.
The Sidu River Bridge (China)
Once again, a record bridge coming from China. It is the 2nd highest in the world, dethroned in 2016 by the Beipanjiang Bridge, which measures 496 meters.
Seven Mile Bridge in Florida (USA)
Seen in many action movies (2 Fast 2 Furious, Mission Impossible 3 ...), the legendary Seven Mile Bridge is one of the most beautiful bridges on the planet. Surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico, it connects two islands of the Keys, this very tourist archipelago of Florida.
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (Northern Ireland)
This rope bridge in County Antrim in Northern Ireland is not long but is suspended 30 meters above the sea, which in bad weather turns into fury.
