Hello folks! We continue on our journey through the beautiful Koh Lipe! If you were wondering where the cover photo of my previous post is from, today I'll show you! The beach is called Sunset beach and it has a small coast on the west side of the island. Sunrise beach on the contrary is on the opposite side and is quite a big one. Today's photos are all made with a Go Pro or cut out from videos so quality won't be the best.. we couldn't really carry the camera with us all the time unfortunately.
Snorkelling in Koh Lipe
As I already mentioned this is said to be the Island with the clearest water and snorkelling here is simply amazing. The marine life looks even more alive than the other islands. Phuket was really disappointing last year after we already went for some snorkelling in Phi Phi but Koh Lipe is on a completely different level. Everything is so much more colourful under water. Corals are so alive and fish is everywhere in different sizes and shapes.
First few places we went to water was a lot deeper than the spots we used to snorkel in Phi Phi Islands. Even so the rocks around were massive and filled with water life all around and on top of them. There were big corridors for every boat's passengers to explore. It was all divided by ropes which the boats used to tie to so it stays still while the tourists are enjoying the sea life under water. The other passengers on our boat weren't good at swimming and didn't even look that excited about looking at what's under them. They just held on to the ropes and chat while me and Nat had all of that space around us to explore.
We found this cute little jelly fish.. haven't seen one that small before. The ones around the Black Sea in Bulgaria are usually massive and you don't want to go near them. This one was nothing like them.. or so I thought until I turned around and gave it the opportunity to sting my foot.
Sunset Beach
To get here we had to catch a 'cab' - one of them motorcycles we used when we first arrived to bring us to the hotel. They stopped us up on a hill from which we had to go through this resort that looked really nice with all natural jungle around it.
Nice views were opening before us as we kept walking and by the end of it there was the restaurant called Liberty with this amazing sight!
We didn't really sit down to eat since we had a pretty filling breakfast but food looked really good in this one.
From there the beach is kind of separated in 2-3 small parts by rocks but surprisingly there weren't rocks in the water. We went to the further end where we were kind of alone.. I mean it is a really small beach but there was no one around us and we had this nice shade under a tree.
This is one of the funniest clips so I had to share that photo.. Nat was trying to take a clip of the view behind her.. Me on the other hand.. well I wanted to swim and didn't realise she was that close.. She never said anything so it was quite funny when we went through our clips and found this jewel! :D
We can look somewhat normal too just so you know..
The third beach and some more about the restaurants and nightlife I'll share in my next post! Hope you enjoyed this one and stay tuned for part #3!
I was trying to figure out how does she grow from your neck!
You're a wizard!!
Nah she's just preparing for the BOMB OF BATISTA! :D
Sounds like one of John Cena's moves lol
Dammit, watching your hercules back I wanna get back to shape too.
Haha well maybe start doing martial arts again? :P
I'm thinking about it, a little bit later.
Very nice photos, especially the ones of the beach. For some reason, beach photos are really appealing, lately! Maybe it's just because I'm stuck in the absolute center of a large continent...
Anyway, very nice work!
Thank you! And yeah the further away the sea is the more desirable destination it becomes. :)
Aww, I went to Koh Lipe too! The place in your pics looks awesome! I enjoyed reading your post. ;)
It is an amazing place! Your photos of the place look great too! :)
Thanks! ;)
