Approximately an hour's drive from the city of Maturín to the town of Aragua de Maturín, is the hill "La Cimarronera". It's a beautiful journey and passes through several villages and hamlets such as La Toscana, Chaparral and Banco de Acosta until you reach the village entrance.
Being on the hill is when the good starts. It has a fairly long climb that begins with an asphalt road and ends on a dirt road with steep climbs and full of rocks. I raised it in 2:30 hours, but the most experts do it in 1:30 hours.
It is advisable to bring plenty of water and snacks for the road, as it is a very lonely walk through the mountains but at the same time very beautiful. It is necessary to wear protection such as helmets and gloves since the descent is very long and a bit difficult because of the irregular terrain. I took 45 minutes on downhill.
