In January my wife and I had the honor of meeting President Vit Jedlicka and many of the United States representatives of Liberland. We visited Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, and were highlighted in an article in the digital edition of the Washington Post.

Liberland was proclaimed on April 13th, 2015. This date was selected becaue it was Jeffersons birthday. For me the visit to monticello was inspirational and sobering. Here was a man who was a champion of freedom, yet on his plantation I was walking in the footsteps of people who had been owned by him.
The house itself had many interesting architectural features. I would recommend visiting it if you have the chance.
This is the building that is featured on the US nickel, so for a little while at least we could say we were "in the money".
