About festivals, Chinese New Year(CNY)is one of the biggest and most important festivals we celebrate in Hong Kong. This year is gonna start on 16th February (what date of CNY depend on the lunar calendar so it is different every year). For my family, the first two days of CNY will be extremely busy to run around like visiting relatives and old friends' places, going to the temples praying for the nice 2018 for everyone in the family. We also have to prepare lunch and dinner for my big family cause it means we always need to stick together as a family and one more reason is not many restaurants will open during CNY except McDonald's. :D
中國新年是香港人其中一個蠻重視的節日，而今年將會在下星期十六號開始(每一年都不一樣因為這取決於農曆日子)。對我們家庭來說，年初一及二真的忙到不行—要到處跟親朋好友拜年、去廟拜拜祈求新一年順風順水。我們還有準備三十人的午餐跟晚餐，好讓大家好好聚一下，而且我想住在香港的朋友都知道除了連鎖快餐基本上沒有太多餐廳會開吧！
CNY is only time I can see my grandma, uncles and aunts as it's not easy to group all people together. Such a small flat with 20 people there!It's good as everybody could be so close to each other at the time.
對我來說新年是唯一時間可以見到我的家人。雖然家很小，但大家擠在一起聊聊天感覺蠻親密的！
Do you know what is one of the spotlight of CNY and makes the kids so happy? We can have red pocket (a blessing)from every married couple, parents and elders. You will get one red pocket money as long as you haven't get married. That's why kids (including me) are so excited to have CNY when they can have extra pocket money :D Give me! Give me! Of course, you have to say something like blessings to them with your big smile before they give to red pocket money in return!
你們知道在新年什麼是重點嗎？就是只要你還未結婚的就可以跟長輩或是已結婚的親友討紅包了！所以很多小朋友（包括我）也很期待新年拿紅包的感覺！當然我們要對長輩說吉祥及祝賀的話他們才會將紅包（祝福）給我們囉！
I really like collecting the envelopes of the red pocket money. This year is the year of the dog and probably most of the envelopes will have a cute little puppy there. Most of them are in red or gold color because it means auspiciousness and happiness. And these few years, young people prefer having something different from tradition for example those fancy silver and purple envelops. I really love them :D
我蠻喜歡收集漂亮特別的紅包封的，今年也不例外！因為今年是狗年，相信大部分的紅包上都有可愛的狗狗了，一定要存一些可愛的。但最近幾年輕的都不喜歡包紅色或金色的紅包，反而銀、紫的蠻受歡迎的！

Thank you for sharing the tradition your family have and to learn about the CNY, I can already imagine how busy it would be in such a big family but on other hand people not seeing each other so often other days. Looking through the photographs, I have to mention there are more girls then boys am I right? Also all the girls on photographs are very beautiful, great photo in surfing board :)
unluckily my grandma doesn't have many grandsons but she is spoiled by all girls :)
在我老家那儿，大部分上了高中15岁左右，长辈们就不再发红包了。小时候过年可以和同辈人聚在一起，现在很多过年都在外地不回家。感觉年味越来越淡了。
15歲後就是沒有真的嗎？好險我到現在都能得到紅包幫助一下哈哈！我們香港家都盡量在年初一二聚在一起，但我想過幾年這習慣也會沒了。
