I've not heard that term and I hope I don't qualify. I tried to speak German to most of the locals we met, but I'm a bit rusty. I think they appreciate me trying.
Oh, we've met a wonderful Brits running an amazing place in Alcudia, Mallorca few years ago. It's quite obviously a guiri bar, although run by people who've been living in Spain for decades. And I happened to mention this G word in our mixed Spanish-English conversation. My Spanish girlfriend kicked me under the table, the hardest she's ever done :))
"Guiri" is a sensitive topic, it's a the worst kind of a tourist, at least at our tri-lingual slang we use at home :) I meant you were a traveller rather than a guiri ;)
