My northernlight Iceland trip

in #travel7 years ago

Last week i went on my first real photography vacation.
8 people and massive amount of gear. Here an impression of my trip.

Started the first day in a small hotel in Reykjavik but didn't have time to do allot of relaxing. The statistics of the Aurora borealis where good so we went out. The roads in Reykjavik are very luminated but we did see the light already. So we quickly drove to the outback where there was no lights to pollute the sky . On a road side parking lot we were spectators of our first northernlight display.

The traffic on the road made this picture more epic.

After being in the freezing cold for about half an hour, it was time to drive to the next place. The Öxarárfoss waterfall. Hopefully the Aurora Borealis is still going when we arrive.
The windspeeds are realy picing op right now and the temperature is now -8 C / 16 F

The waterfall is located in a canyon and the wind is exactly in between. so the feeling is so much colder.
But we didn't notice it because of the stunning sight of the Aurora Borealis.

When we arrived the light was a little less than before but after a hour or so it really started.
