Travel #22: Ba Vì National Park - A picnic destination

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

We decided to picnic in somewhere near Hanoi in holiday and Ba Vì National Park was a good idea. Ba Vì national park is around 50km from center of Hanoi and it is ideal place for someone love nature, adventure and want to do some outdoor activities.

Time for party

There were 6 people in my team. Firstly we meant to go by bike to get some amazing adventure with moutain road but after that we decided to go by car because a lot of stuffs we could not bring with bike.
It's an hour drive from Hanoi through some small towns and roads with a lot of cows and buffalos to traverse, then we get to Ba Vi.

It costed 60,000VND ($2.5) for the entrance fee per one. You can visit some sightseeings in the park for example: Cactus house, Bao Thien Tower, Thuong Temple, Ngoc Hoa Cave, Churches. Actually in that time, we skip every famous place, just head to stone overgrown church to picnic.

Lost in forest

The way to reach that church was so incredible. I could feel fresh air and mystical atmosphere immediately when I started going up. Foggy looking made us so excited like we lost to Alice’s wonderland. After going up high enough. We parked car, took out every stuff and brought to church by walk. That was a holiday so there was crowed. Majority was student and local. Everyone came here to take a break from bustling city of Hanoi.
We prepared a lot of food to make small BBQ party: chicken wings, pork, beef, sausage, fruits, beer, etc. That was quite hard to find out a empty place to put down our stuff. Camper and picnic-er everywhere.

Mystical forest

After finish BBQ Party, we tried to clean it out. There are cleaners but its hard to keep the place all clean and natural without the supportive practices of campers/visitors.
Highly recommend you guys come here if you are in Hanoi now. But better is riding a motorbike.
Ba Vì Nation Park is a great place to spend a day, taking your time to get to each attraction and explore as much of the park as possible.

I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like picnics. But that forest looks really good. So mysterious as you said...

HAha. Why not? U dont like outdoor activities?

In Turkey, people believe that digging umblical cord of a baby effects their personality. For example if they put it near to mosque, that guy will be religious. My parents dig them next to a house. So I like staying at home.
In the other hand, I'm Virgo, so it's good to stay home for me.
But the truth is I don't have good memories about going picnic, that's why I don't like it. But Vietnamese picnic seems different than ours. We usually do BBQ in picnic. That's why I always say while watching movie: "Americans are fighting against zombies, but I'm sure they're doing BBQ in Turkey."

Awe can I be your friend too! Lol
