KEY WEST FOOD
Key West has so much delicious food we couldn't decide where we wanted to go at all. There were a few places (like Sloppy Joe's restaurant) that I had on my list, but most other places were just a google away "food near me". Haha. Also, my Sloppy Joe's post will be separate from this one since there are 3 branches I wanted to display! Today, I will be displaying four places we visited. I unfortunately didn't get pictures from the Amigos Tortilla Bar and in the pizza place I only got the wall mural. Lol. The Amigos Tortilla Bar was delicious, I highly recommend it! Anyways, here we go!
Better Than Sex
I saw this on google and it was immediately my first choice. It is a very seductive restaurant, if you know what I mean... Dim lights, red velvet curtains and walls, etc. Me and my friend felt a little awkward about it because it seemed like we were a couple. Lol. It is a dessert restaurant with an insanely good menu. Even the alcohol is dessert like! I ordered the left hand milk stout (a personal favorite) with a white chocolate rim and the Cookie Nookie Pie. I will be returning next time. Haha.
Fat Tuesdays
I saw this and thought: "Hey, noon is a good time to start drinking". This time I got a Banana Daiquiri and my friend Sean got the Hurricane. It was good, not spectacular. There are several frozen drink stands all over the island. Since it is acceptable to drink on the streets you can take them to go! Don't forget the floaters of rum!
Key West Key Lime Pie Company
I visited this place in about 10th grade. Had to come back on this trip because I believe that this is the best key lime pie you'll find in Key West. There is another place called Kermit's that is supposed to be pretty good as well. Not only did me and my friend get a piece of pie, but some of the assorted candy you see above. Coconut clusters, chocolate covered berries, and orange rock candy... Mmmmm. Yeah.
Hi @hansenator
I'm Canadian and visited Key West 10 years ago! Loved it! My dad now owns a place in Fort Myers so next time I visit Florida, I plan to drive to Key West over that amazing looking cos way (I think that's what those over water highways are called). Next time I'm there I'm definitely going to have to try out that delicious looking key lime pie! Thanks for the post. Following you now and look forward to seeing more:)
Thank you for the reply lpproject! My dad is from Nova Scotia and I am born and raised Ft. Myers. Haha. Coincidence, right. So, make sure you let me know and I'll show you around a little bit!
@hansenator! That is so cool!!! I'm from Toronto; Nova Scotia is much cooler and scenic lol. Have you ever been? And yeah! I go to Ft Myers 1-2 times a year (I was there in April and went to Miami for a few days and Fort Lauderdale) ALWAYS go to Bert's Bar when I'm there too! I'll definitely let ya know next time I'm in Florida:)
No. I haven't been yet, but hoping to go soon! Next time your down let me know! Seems like a spot people tend to visit. Haha. I've never been to Berts, I'll have to try it.
Wow looks awesome! I'll have to do this trip sometime :D
Food is definitely a highlight after you've been fasting. Haha.
Eating can be almost better than sex, haha. Greetings.
Hence the name. Haha. It was awesome!
I'll keep these places in mind the next time in in KW. I have only been to the pie joint and Sloppy Joes'. Have fun and enjoy @hansenator. I'm looking forward to your Sloppy's post.
Thank you jdhenry! I want to go get some pictures from the St. Petersburg location too before I post it, but I may be heading back home a different route, so I may not be able to. 2/3 of the SJ's should be good enough if not.
