ALWAYS GO Chasing 130 FT Waterfalls! Kitekite Falls (New Zealand Escapades Pt.5)

in #travel7 years ago

What's everyone doing in traffic jams, cubicles and shopping centers when places like this exist in the world?

I am always a fan of the water feature and New Zealand boasts some of the cleanest, purest, most beautiful waters in the world! Come along with me and I'll take you to Kitekite falls, just outside of Auckland (we have to drive out of the city a little bit to get there!) I only had an hour on the dot at this spot before I had to leave to get to the airport on time for my flight down south to go pick up my van, Samwise! So, yours truly was racing up this hill, plowing past everyone so I could have more time to take all the amazing pictures you're about to see! (I was definitely late for my flight but I made it on!)

My friends in Auckland didn't want to make the drive out here! I guess it's like that when you live somewhere isn't it? It always seems like something you can do another time (though usually never end up doing for always putting it off!)

I decided to rent a car and make it happen!

After the drive out there, past the gorgeous coast line... I arrived at the carpark which told me the trail was 45 mins return. I literally only had 1 hour before I knew I needed to head back but I wouldn't give up on seeing this gorgeous natural beauty!

The forest was a nature lover's dream! I love hiking in New Zealand because of the lack of predators there (haha) it's true though- it's a thing- look it up! Or... maybe they just told me that to make me strut my stuff with no fear! ;)

wag7.jpg

I debated racing to the top without taking any pictures on the way because I was really rushed for time and slightly stressing about it but that wouldn't be any fun so we got some!

wag2.jpg

Walking through this forest was something like being in Jurassic Park. Seriously wouldn't have flinched if a dinosaur came popping out of somewhere trying to take my head off. Good thing I am vegan and had my vegan T-shirt on. T-Rex's don't eat vegans. Fact.

It was still a little bit chilly compared to Bali so for the first time in months I actually had jeans and a sweater on! If you know me, that is just straight craziness! (My friends that live there think that is warm! Shivers...

I was rushed for time like I told you but I wanted to share this sign with you, it didn't turn out great but I am still sharing it anyway in case any of you are expert deciphers and really interested! ;)

OK, are you ready? I am about to clear the last corner and get the breaking view of the falls!

                                     2

                                                                                        3!

                                                                                                          TADA! Kitekite falls!

I also sent the drone up and got some of the fastest footage known to man but my drone and I are not together right now. I will definitely share that video whenever I get her back. She's on lend right now and I miss her but sharing is caring! Plus, it just gives you more to look forward to, amiright?

What do you guys think? Booking your flights to NZ yet? I feel like with my photos and adventures I am going to spike tourism for them ;)

If you liked this, definitely check out my other NZ escapades like this one here of a famous movie site and stay tuned for plenty more where these came from!

As always, sending you love to all over the world, from homebase in Bali! Yay 2018!

@heart-to-heart, I absolutely love this post. I especially like the moving image, and the image where you are facing the waterfall. Gorgeous, gorgeous pics, and written with your sunny, carefree tone as always. I nominated you for the above reward - well done!

💜💜💜

Hey @princessmewmew <3 Thank you! It's been such a long time! I know I have been away but judging by this, you must have been Steeming the whole time! =D How are you doing?

You know, you would love my drone shots! When I get my drone back I will be sure to post the videos, they will take your breath away <3

Hope you had a wonderful New Year! Thanks so much for the sweet nomination my dear!

i have indeed been busy!

I have also really missed your posts :) let me know when the drone shots are up!

Come say hi in the adsactly server sometime

I have been in that server forever! I kept asking people to tell me what was going on but I could never get through to anyone haha so I am in there, just never knew how to interact ;) <3

awesome! have you read the adsactly on adsactly series? It helps to explain what is actually happening!

My husband and I would love to go to New Zealand!

I think you should plan it and go! It's amazing and you will never regret going! I can give you all the tips you need <3

This is called enjoying life. We tend to forget that we have to enjoy life not just live it like a routine. The waterfall has catched my eyes and all this natural beauty is so pleasing.

Followed and resteemed @heart-to-heart

Hi @cryptokraze =D Love your name by the way! It's so true. I know that my own father is visiting me right now as one of the first big leaps away from work he has ever had in his life and I am trying to get him to experience everything he can! I personally love nature and try to spend as much time in it as I can (*which means I have an abundance of more photos like this ;) ) Happy to hear you enjoyed them! It's my mission to make Steemit filled with natural beauty <3 Have a great day!

"Good thing I am vegan and had my vegan T-shirt on. T-Rex's don't eat vegans. Fact." Hahah you are so cute! NZ looks amazing, So far I've only ever flown into the Auckland airport but its on my list of places to visit.

Haha well, it's the truth. Google it ;)

Where did you fly to that you had to go through Auckland, that seems crazy out of the way to me!

I was flying to San Fransisco from Australia. It was a cheap flight so I was happy to take it and its not too far from where I live so not really out of the way. I really loved flying in and seeing the rolling hills with all the sheep and from what I've experienced everyone there is just super chill and lovely. :)

Oh awesome! Now that makes sense! :) It's super far out of the way otherwise haha I was trying to figure it all out but yes, awesome country and amazing people! <3

What a terrific post and congratulations on the AdSactly post of the day! I can't believe you tried it on such a narrow time frame. But I sure am glad you did.

I've been threatening to go for 50 years. Ever since I read about Burt Munro in the 60s I've wanted to ride Australia and New Zealand. I may get there yet..

Thanks for a great look at a great place!

Hi @bigtom13 :) Thank you so much! I took a little break from Steemit while I was off chasing waterfalls and mountains and blue skies but now that I am back, I am so happy to be able to share! I think so many people want to go to Australia and New Zealand but they are just so far so if I can show some pictures here, well I am more than thrilled to do so! There are so many more coming up!

I've learned it's better to miss the flight than miss the experience ;) Better not to miss either haha

You should go but if you can't you can always come around here and check out my posts. I have hundreds and hundreds of photos I am organizing to share so we can take you on a virtual tour :)

actually you are right we are just wasting out times in shoping and sitting in wlubs thank you for the post dear and i would like to tell you you have a wonderful smill

Hey I am always more than happy to share the nature I have experienced here ;) It is my pleasure! Luckily I have hundreds and hundred of photos to be shared so they will keep on coming =D

Thank you for the lovely remark, I never leave home without my smile ;)

hh such a great thing to smile all the time we are waiting for other picture and hope you enjoy you trips thank you

New Zealand has been on my list forever (LOTR fault)! So beautiful!! I'd say it was worth getting to that waterfall, huh? I'd go too! Good for you :)

Haha LOTR did it to me too! I went on a hunt of as many film locations as I could because of that. It was a lot of fun! Wait til I show you Hobbiton. It was one of the best days of my life! I took too many photos to reasonably organize though so that one might take a minute ;)

It was worth the extra money it ended up costing yes for sure haha, even the stress at the airport. I would definitely do it again :)

You have to plan a trip and go! You'll love it!

Key Music...Don't go chasing waterfalls.

J/K Chase them all! :) What beauty in the world. Nature gives us the best energy!!

I don't know why TLC is suggesting we don't go do this on the regular. So strange to me. Maybe they didn't know about this waterfall ;)

Lol I think so!

Finally I finished reading both your posts and I am overwhelmed with all that beauty. This is also my future plan. Travel to places like this and take photos. As you may know I also love macro photography, so I have to make sure I will have enough time for that. No rushing, lol.

In the meantime, I will enjoy all the photos you will share with us from your adventure, so bring it on my DEAR XOXO

Lena, you should definitely do it! You live in just as wonderful of a country though. You know Canada and NZ are very similar in their natural beauty! I might come home and see a little bit of our wonderful country myself <3

I know you love macro and are so wonderful at it! I really want to get myself a macro lens so I can start too! It's on my wish list ;)

Yes, in the meantime, I will share with you my whirlwind adventures <3 Maybe one day I'll manage to get you over here ;) XO

The way things are going with Steemit I my be able to do it sooner than I thought. I would also love to see more of Canada and I am definitely going to do so............ the only time I want to escape to a warmer climate is around this time until May, lol.

My mom says it is unbearably cold! Now would be the perfect time! <3 Is everything going well then? Steem is being a dream? =D

Yes you are right my Dear, now would be perfect, however, I am trying to pay off my credit card first, lol. I already paid my overdraft. But it shouldn't take too long, because yes, Steemit is a dream 🌸💖🌸

Where can we catch up, in Discord?

🌸💖🌸

glory to GOD for for all

Really beautiful scenery I wish you lasting happiness

Thank you so much :) It's definitely very special there! The water was slightly too cold for a shower though :)

really beautiful scenery I wish you lasting happiness

Very beautiful place and the waterfall is looking good. Couple of amazing pictures with superb photography.... :))

In New Zealand there are waterfalls everywhere, it's actually crazy to me but I loved this one. It was kind of off the path a bit and was so gorgeous! I can't wait to show the drone shots!

Looks incredible!!
Glad you enjoyed yourself in such a beautiful place!
I'd love to go some day!

It's impossible not to enjoy yourself here, I assure you ;) It's so magical! You should definitely go anytime you get a chance. It's incredible! I hope you get to see it one day in person =D

it is seen that it was a great adventure full of a lot of beautiful vegetation

Yes, this was a natural paradise :) Completely breathtaking!

beautiful all photography and very nice post.

Would you guide me there? you are very beautiful, you can guide me wherever you want haha

Haha well, I am not a registered tour guide so it might be a problem with immigration but I can virtually guide you ;)

Australia and New Zealand are very high on my travel wish list! I think @dksart and I really need to start saving our pennies to finally do it. I love seeing all of your photos and hearing your perspective on your travels. Definitely so much better than an impersonal travel brochure. 🤣

You should totally do them in tandem though both are quite expensive which is the only snag I would say... that and Aus's spider problem ;)

I am (I kid you not) the most hard core planner so I plan and research non stop when I go somewhere to make sure I hit everything I want to and don't miss anything ;) I'd be happy to help when you guys get the penny bank all filled up <3

Good to know. I think the appeal in doing both is how expensive and time-consuming to get to that part of the world from Atlanta, Georgia. But then there is also the benefit of doing one or the other and really going all in to see everything you can! Definitely need to start looking into it. I am for sure a planner, too. Especially when it may be a once in a lifetime trip!

One trick I used to use from the states was internal flights so maybe Spirit or Frontier or Jetblue or any of those budget small ones to get to a bigger location like LAX or NYC, that can make a huge difference in price. I used to fly to Vegas all the time to get other places ;) <3

Definitely wonderful, that's where I want to spend my vacation someday.

I really recommend it! If you go, you want at least a month I would say though because there is just so much to see =D I hope you get to go!

The falls and the Forrest alone are reasons to be late for your flight, you planned it well to get out there take some amazing photos and make it back on time.
Very well done, sharing the calmness of a timeless waterfall and peacefulness of the Forrest, even through the hustle and bustle of life.

You know google maps can be a travel life saver ;) especially with real time traffic! I did stay and play a little bit longer than I should have, then had some traffic lights etc... I mean I shouldn't have left it to the dot let's say haha but how could I resist? Wait til you see the drone videos! I am going to make sure I let everyone know when I post them! They are incredible! <3

@heart-to-heart, happy to see your smile again after a while! When did you actually move to New Zealand? Last time I remember you were in Indonesia.

Hey @steemfluencer :) LONG TIME! I actually just ran off to NZ to deal with my campervan but ended up doing another little tour and then my flight got canceled back home to Bali because of the volcano which brought me to Thailand to meet my father who was supposed to be visiting me in Bali for Christmas and long story short, just got home for NYE :) Good memory though ;)
How were your holidays? =D

Got it :) Sounds very exciting :) I went to my home town and stayed for 3 weeks. Met with friends from my childhood almost every day. At the end I didn't want to get back in the city where I currently reside.. I'm trying to overcome a small depression now, if you know what I mean :)

Oh the city can do that to you... though it must have been wonderful having that time to reconnect! You're making me nostalgic! <3 Hope I can bring you some cheery sun so you don't feel rotten at all! <3

We all absolutely need to find that time off those crazy life issues and enjoy nature. Nice shots you have here creating some nice feelings.

Yes I am totally in support of that! I am hoping that inspiring people through pictures will give them the boost they need to go out into nature and have these incredible experiences ;) But if not, at least they can see the beauty here :) I hope you get to go out chasing waterfalls yourself! ;)

This is such stunning scenery...ohhhh those waterfalls! Good for you for being determined to make the hike even if time seemed short. Enjoy the rest of your visit, @heart-to-heart! All the best!

Hi @atmemestable :) New Zealand has incredible waterfalls, I have to tell you! I have so many more pictures! I went on a waterfall hunt all over the country so I will keep sharing them :) I'm happy you are enjoying them =D

wow amazing..I really like to see the waterfall
