Oh my! What a big waterfall you have! All the better to soak you with my dear...
Let's go to Tegenungan Waterfalls together!
The sun was showing off today as it threatened to scorch my skin, lighting up the clear blue sky for a picture perfect day.
I got to the waterfall only to find… dun… dun… dun… my memory card for my camera was in my laptop AT HOME! That meant I only had my camera phone and while my smart phone boasted being an advanced camera model with leading technology… it’s not. All of it was advertising ploys to reel me in when really, the camera is not-so-bueno.
That’s OK though, my eyes are great memory collectors and I took some photos to share with you anyway. Plus, you’re going to close your eyes and pretend you’re there with me so it’s all just peachy, don’t worry, be happy, ya? =D
Are you ready to go? We’ve got to get on the scooters/moto’s and scoot on over there! Don’t forget your face mask, the traffic is notorious and breathing in all the exhaust fumes will make you exhausted (Get it! I crack myself up!)
Arriving, it’s a small fee, only 15,000.00… or you know, just a bit over a US dollar. ;)
Through the entry, there are stalls lining either side in case you want to buy an ice cold coconut, a crochet bikini or virtually any souvenir you can think of with BALI etched across it.
Off the first landing, we get our first peak at the cascading falls throwing themselves out from the forest behind!
That’s the easy part. If you haven’t been spending any time on the stair master… well stay here because we’re about to descend the stairs all the way down and many people line the path, struggling to get up and down!
Part way down there is a break in the rail which calls my name. I love going off the beaten track so, naturally without the slightest bit of hestitation I was up and over that and on the other side before I knew where I was going.
It took me to a small waterfall that no one seemed to be stopping at. When I got there, there were two men balancing on the slippery rocks trying to get the perfect angle. I decided I’d like to do the same thing so into the water I went to climb the stones up the falls!
Alright so, slippery when wet and covered in slime applies full force here. I was feeling mighty nervous for my all white ensemble.
Luckily no catastrophes occurred today. I wish I could say the same for Jay Bee Elle.
Since this waterfall is kind of hidden behind, it’s shielded from the sun and a bit chilly in the shade so I decided to keep on going down to where all the fuss was about. Look at this lovely ode to my name carved here! Awww!
At the bottom of the steps there is a river with tons of beautiful little stone people! We call them inukshuks in Canada! A sign that you are not alone and that others have been there before you!
Upstream, we can see where the river water is coming from! The mighty waterfall with fierce power rumbling in the background!
Making my way down, this fun little stop presented itself! Thinking of all my Steemian amigos out there, I stopped for a picture!
The lifeguard’s nest was sitting a top of some funny signs. Super inappropriate. :)
I am not sure the translation app worked this time ‘round.
I’m glad they told me to keep my clothes on… that would have been awkward.
I didn't end up going in since they restricted my choice attire but here's a look from below!
Now it’s time to walk the plank. I don’t have the world’s greatest balance…
On the other side of the wood, is the entrance to the top of the waterfalls. They wanted TEN THOUSAND more monies so I didn’t go up, here I am at the base! I'm all about that base, anyway...
Instead of hiking up that extra mountain, (you didn't want to go either!) we thought about taking a rest in a sunbed for 25K (the currency is so much fun) but it was really hot so we decided to head on back up to the covered area and find a place to read!
Sitting in the common area, looking over this beautiful act of nature, I was devastated to see trash floating down stream!
Littering in a beautiful place like that should be a crime!
As I sat there eating my yummy vegan, sugar-free chocolate treats I brought along, I started getting frustrated with all of the trash I kept seeing and wanted to urge everyone to please not throw trash into nature! Please! It's so devastating...
I decided to take my broken heart home and meditate on how to make the world stop littering when I saw an opening in the wall...
A surprise garden bath!
I had some fun frolicking in it before heading to my friend's house for a wonderful treat that will have to be another story all on it's own!
I hope you had as much fun as I did on this date! I love exploring and sharing this beautiful world with you! If you'd like to go on another date, come on by again sometime! <3
Until then,

Thanks! keep you posts comming, they are very nice. Thinking about leaving Amsterdam again to travel, where should I go, suggestions?
Oh I will definitely keep them coming, no shortage of creativity in me! I have to let it out somehow ;)
Leaving Amsterdam you say? Well, I have only been to Amsterdam once for 3 days and it was very cold. But since I don't know you yet or what you're traveling for, I can't suggest anything unless you gave me more info, then I would be happy to help how I can :)
What a beautiful place. I love waterfalls. Thank you for sharing the beauty of our planet.
