Most tourists who visit Egypt go to Sharm Elshiek and Hurghada
It is rare to find a tourist in the north coast which start from Alexandria and end Marsa Matrouh.

there are a lot of resorts along the coast like Marina, Hacienda, Marsilia and Marbella where people can rent villas, chalets, flats or simply stay in a hotel.

best time to visit north coast is in summer from mid-June till mid-September.
You can go before or after this time, but for me I prefer the sea to be warm.
It is easy to go there from Alexandria. Most People spend their weekends in summer there.
If you search for activity and nightlife, you have to go to Porto Marina. All other resorts are quiet in the evenings and at night.
