Madurodam
Madurodam is a miniature park located in The Hague, The Netherlands. It's named Madurodam in remembrance of George Maduro and at the same is located at the George Maduroplein (Madurosquare).
Not only do the miniature buildings make this place amazing, but also that park donate the profits to charities, like Jeugdsportfonds, KNCV Tuberculosefonds en Cruyff Court Laakkwartier Den Haag. The Jeugdsportfonds allows children that come from poorer families to sport.
Let's dive right into the miniatures.
This isn't a miniature?! This is a the Royal Palace of Amsterdam at the Dam Square! It actually is a miniature. Here is a picture of the square in Amsterdam.
Looks identical doesn't it?
Since we are on the topic of detail let me show you one more, well actually two more pictures.
The famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
But the detail is amazing! You can see the Nachtwacht by Rembrandt van Rijn through one of the windows. (and you see my reflection).
This park isn't just miniatures, there are also some "interactive videos" where you'll be learning about Dutch history and there is also one of George Maduro.
(Those canons work!)
In the park there are also cars, trucks (or lorries for BE), cranes, windmills, trains, and boats that move!
Fantastic article. Would like to read more about this!
