Summer is also a harvest season for peanuts. All stages in the harvesting process are done by hand. I remember there were years of harvesting done on hot sunny days, the soil becomes very hard and to get peanuts off the ground, we have to use hoes to get each peanut root up, hard work to shall to open your mouth.
People are pulling every peanut root off the ground
Pull the finished product home, and will pick up each peanut from the tree
As far as I remember long ago we used to cultivate peanuts, but only for eating not for selling. We used to eat it raw also. Because we have more soil moist soil, its yield is very good. But slowly or completely endangered. Though still gram, peas, wheat, paddy and potato are cultivated but much of it is used for self eating.
