Cycling Denmark to China: Chased by a thunderstorm!⚡

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Already from early in the morning I noticed both wind and waves being more dramatic than the usual calm days. Not much wonder considering the dark clouds that rolled in on the horizon!

Welcome to another steemit post at the shore of Croatia, hope you will enjoy the pictures that I have gathered for this '' beautiful'' day:

almost all day long it seemed like clouds was just barely scratching my ass. I actually have no idea why the clouds never reached me and washed me off the face of the earth. (at least for now)

I did have a few hours where the sun came out, almost making me believe i escaped the storm...

Guess who's back... Back again! The thunderstorm finally took its revenge and caught up on me.

From here the thunderstorm won; it caught up on me and gave me one hell of a shower, sorry, no picture of that, I would not risk my precious phone!

I did find a hostel where I could take cover for the night, no way I could put my tent up in those conditions, the wind was so strong almost blew me off the bike.

Also I have reached the famous '' biker tan look'', isn't it beautiful? People will for sure admire me in my speedos when hitting that beach tomorrow!

Stay awesome!

Nice pictures holm!

Is it southern Croatia? It looks exactly like the landscape I remember from a holiday near Dubrovnik.

It is very inspirational to see what you are doing holm. How much time have you set aside for this biking project? And how on earth did you arrange this manificent adventure from a time and monetary perspective?

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us

Thanks a lot! I am not far from Dubrovnik anymore so that's a very good guess I would say!
I have a lot of time since I i finished my study and quit my job and apartment at home just before I left, leaving no attachments to when I need to be home except for when the wallet runs out or I feel like going back! It was something I planned to do for 2 years (first only to Greece but a few weeks ago I figured I wanted to set the goal to Asia)!, my travel is a lot about flexibility so if I decide I wanna go somewhere else, or stay in one place for a little while, I do it!

That sounds absolutely amazing! I love the "no attachments" attitude.

Very inspiring.

I can only advice to try! Haha:) it's nice with no worries except for food, water and where you want to sleep at night

Wow, you got such a great collection of pictures and a story worth to tell.

Thanks a lot man! I appreciate it a lot! Still trying to see how to get my story a cross the board the best way! :)

Go go My son -:)

Wow these are amazing ! I love the views

@holm stunning pictures, Croatia looks gorgeous. Love the tan lines by the way, classic.

Thanks a lot man! I worked hard for those tan line so they better pay off! Haha!

Good stuff man! Just hope tomorrow is a storm free day for you tomorrow and your things have enough time to dry overnight

Usually things dry here in matter of minutes in the sun so no problem ! Thanks a lot and see you around my friend!
