Vienna’s central district is full of charm, history and elegance, and walking through the Inner City is quite like the pages of a children’s novel as a horse and carriage await to guide you to its palaces. It is simply bursting with Imperial history and stunning architecture made up of palaces, museums, theatres and churches; such as the world-famous Vienna State Opera, and Schonburnn Palace which Napoloen once used as his headquarters during the Occupation of Austria. Vienna is also the birthplace of the coffeehouse with Café Sacher being a must visit to try the original Viennese Sachertorte! Victoria and I went four times during our week long stay and were left buzzing for hours from the caffeine rush. Ultimately, Vienna’s infectious mix of old and new is hard to ignore and I really love its charm. There is so much to see and we will return to further explore Austria’s capital during the ball season, with a musical accompaniment by Mozart and Straus.
