Attractions of Hoi An #9 Cua Dai Beach

in #travel7 years ago

Cua Dai Beach in Hoi An is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is among an amazing 5 such listed sites in and around this delightful seaside town on Vietnam’s east Central Coastal region. The 2 mile stretch of gorgeous white powdery sands can be found to the north-east of the town. The sea here is clear and excellent for swimming. Beach huts are dotted along the sand and there are also some bungalows.

The very beautiful Cua Dai Beach

Dining is excellent here at any of the number of seafood restaurants along the shoreline. Hoi An is a tremendous place to visit, the Ancient Town with its Japanese Covered Bridge is of course one of the famous heritage sites here. There is much to see and do. The town is known for its great tailor’s shops, excellent dining and lantern making, at night it is as beautiful as anywhere you could imagine.

It is possible to rent a sun lounger and expected that you purchase some inexpensive fruit from the vendors here. The constant stream vendors can be a bit irksome but it should be remembered that people are pretty poor here. Coming here during the week is amazing as it is generally very quiet. For those wishing a few more creature comforts there are a few high end resort hotels in the area.

Sadly Cua Dai Beach, is under threat. Terrible sea erosion is wreaking havoc with the natural conditions. In 8 years the sea has taken a staggering 150 yards of beach and in one single month in 2014 stole 30 yards. Two resorts that were built never even got to open, such was the damage and at least one house collapsed into the water.

The best time to visit Hoi An is between April and June: Read about this in depth here: https://steemit.com/travel/@inseasia/best-time-to-visit-vietnam-5-hoi-an
