Last weekend, I have visited a rather unusual but magical place - the Sedlec Ossuary in Kutna Hora. The number of skeletons you can find here is estimated to be between 40 000-70 000.
As you can see from the pictures, the bones have been arranged to form decorations of the chapel.
While you might think that it is slightly morbid, I must say that I found it beautiful in a way. The precision with which the bones have been arranged…
I guess that beauty can be found in any form, even in death.
Due to its uniqueness, the ossuary appeared in numerous movies - it was used e.g. as a location for the Dungeons & Dragons movie and the movie Blood & Chocolate.
No surprises there - the fantasy/horror genre seems to be the best fit.
If you like unusual places, I definitely recommend visiting this place.
No way! Really interesting, you might find interesting to discover the Fontanelle Cimitery in Naples. There are thousands of skulls as well in a really mystic ambience
Oh really? Thank you for the tip. I will be in South Italy for my friend's wedding later this year, so I might check it out!
Wow I need to check that place out!
Definitely! It is only one hour drive from Prague.
amazing coloure photography:)>
This looks in some way beautiful but also scary or creepy. I guess I wouldn't feel very comfortable there in the evening...
Agreed - I wouldn't recommend going there in the evening:D
