Tablanusu Village is one of the complete tourist destinations located in Tablanusu Village, Depapre District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province. The word 'Tablanusu' itself is taken from two united words, Tepara which means one of the original tribes that exist there and Onusu which means sunset. This location is one of the favorite destinations in Papua and is always crowded by many tourists on weekends. The peaceful nature, the convenient location, the beautiful scenery with clear water and tranquil waves, and also the hospitality of the local people will greet you once you are in Tablanusu Village.

There are many places you can find in Tablanusu. You can tour the forest by walking through some starting points around Tablanusu along with local people. For those of you who love historical tours, you can see the remnants of the allied armies of World War II. Historically, Tablanusu Village is one of the allied army bases on the eastern side of Indonesia. There is also a grave near the church which is believed to be one of the important figures and also the person who built the church.

There are many cross-shaped inscriptions you can find in this village which according to local people, the inscription was made to honor Christianity into Tablanusu Village in the early 1990s. For those of you who love nature tourism, you can make a tour around with trekking through some starting point around Tablanusu who was accompanied by local people. In the jungle, you will be delighted by the different types of endemic animals and plants growing naturally. There are also lakes that live in many freshwater creatures such as gold fish, mujair and milkfish. In addition, you can also find a beach not far from the village, a place where you can snorkel and dive comfortably.

There are two small islands near the village that are recommended to visit if you are in Tablanusu. It only takes a few minutes to get to the small islands. On these islands, you can find the endemic orchids of Papua grow beautifully. You can also see the beautiful scenery of these two small islands.

In this village, there are some Tablanusu cultural ceremonies that you can watch like Sasi and Tiyatiki rituals held every year or once in two years. The sasi ceremony is a ceremony to enter a teapot (coastal iron wood branch) to a location where there are many fishes found, especially in coral reef areas. Tiyatiki is a ritual to prohibit fishing for an agreed duration.

Another unique feature of Tablanusu is that almost all parts of this 230-hectare village are covered by small and black natural rocks, so it can be heard if you walk on it. But for the local people, they have a trick to not produce sound while walking on it. This makes it easier to recognize new arrivals by hearing the friction sounds created by the rock. You can not only discover the beauty of nature, the exoticism of the tradition, the uniqueness of the village and the friendliness of the community, but also the many facilities that tourists can get. If you want to stay overnight, you can rent a house of locals who will gladly welcome you in Tablanusu Village.
