Day 2
Welcome to day 2 of our trip. This is a continuation to my previous post describing about my trip to Coorg. You can visit my previous post from here : An awesome trip to Coorg - "The Scotland of India" !!!! Day 1.
This day we have visited local places in Madikeri town in Coorg. Me and my friends have woke up early in the morning at around 6:00 a.m. We visited the coffee plantations surrounding our home-stay and have enjoyed the fresh morning air. Here is a picture of coffee plant with beans.
As we have roamed around the plantation we have found a beautiful spider on our way and took some pics.
We have found a lake nearby after walking some 1.5 km near some bamboo plantations.
We have roamed around for almost 2 hrs enjoying the nature and chilling out. After that we came to our home-stay to have our breakfast and got ready to go out to madikeri town. First we have visited madikeri fort which was first founded by Mudduraja in the second half of the 17th century. He also built a palace inside the fort. It was eventually rebuilt in granite by Tipu Sultan who named the site as Jaffarabad. Before some years the fort used to look like this,

But now they are not maintaining the fort so surroundings look more like this.
After this we have visited Raja's Seat which was like the place we have visited during the whole trip. Raja's Seat is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains. It is one of the most important tourist spots in madikeri of Coorg District. This is located on the edge of a mountain and has an awesome view to a village located on the ground below. The view was so good and we enjoyed it a lot.
It has rained a bit when we visited.
The view from the top is so amazing it cannot be described in words, you have to experience it. After this we have got an a toy train near this which rotates around a small park. And after that we had our lunch in Raintree restaurant which is one of the best restaurant to have food in Coorg. After having our lunch we have visited Abbey falls which was like 8 km from madikeri town. The river is part of the early reaches of the river Kaveri.
It looks like this when it has fresh water :

But when we visited the place was very crowded as it was a weekend and due to the rains the soil has washed away from the mountains. So it looked like this,
We haven't been able to enjoy much in the falls as the place was very crowded. But overall experience was good. After this we have went to our home-stay and chilled for the night with playing cards and drinks.
We have pretty much liked the experience we had that day. It was an awesome experience. Stay tuned for what we have experienced on day 3 which was our last day.
All the pics were taken by me and my friends, if not I have mentioned the source below the images.
