Philippines is blessed with many different land forms and water forms. Mountain resorts, beaches plus many unknown islands which have big potentials to attract tourists. One of these is Bohol an Island Province of the Philippines located in Central Visayas Region. And I'm fortunate that I was able to visit it and see some of it's pride.
Our first stop is the Butterfly Farm.
Who says it's boring? Seeing these butterflies will fill you with appreciation of their beauties with their colorful wings.
The farm also exhibits other animals...
This preserved snake is Samantha. She was the largest snake in Bohol when she was still alive.
This snake is currently in the process of hibernation. That's why I was very confident in touching it. :)
Close-up shot. Haha!
These two snakes are maybe curious of who are their visitors for today.
I will never really forget this monkey. I was trying to get a close-up shot of him when...
He tried to snatch my phone! Bad monkey haha! :)
While on our way, our driver taught us one thing: Every time we travel to a certain place, don't ever forget to thank the Lord for the safe travel and opportunity to visit places like this. That is why we decided to visit the Baclayon Church.
Baclayon Church is the second oldest stone church in the Philippines. It is still under construction because of the damage brought by the 7.2 magnitude Earthquake in 2013.
Third stop: Tarsier Sanctuary
We silently tour their sanctuary. Camera flash and too much noise is not allowed in the area because it may cause stress to these smallest primates.
The second highlight and my favorite: Chocolate Hills
I was really amazed by this land form. For me Chocolate Hills symbolizes how Boholanos are blessed that is why I hope that they will continue to take care of this blessing and to continue promote the Agritourism in our country.
As the day was ending, we decided to go to their Bee Farm where we bought our "pasalubong"
Tried their salad flower. "It taste weird" Haha
And their so yummy ice cream! I actually missing it :(
I really like the place, it's quiet, relaxing and environmental friendly.
This beautiful sunset was a perfect day-ender of our Bohol travel. :)
The entire trip was very fun not only because of the beautiful places but also because of the wonderful people with me.
I'm really amazed of the growing tourism in Bohol. I'm proud of the fact that they do not need to sacrifice their natural environment just to attract tourists. Instead they use their very own land forms and animals as their strengths to support their economy by means of tourism.
Keep Going Bohol! :)
