Benguet is one of the highest places in the Philippines where the popular city of Baguio was situated. However, if you think Baguio is the highest point in the country, you are wrong. Yes, it is the highest city but it's not the highest or even coldest area. In fact, talking about the highest, it is located in Atok, Benguet, more than an hour ride from Baguio City.
A few weeks ago, I went out of town to Buguias Benguet. While on my way there, I saw the Highest Point in Atok at the Halsema Highway. Nevertheless, I am unable to take a picture because I am riding UV Express. Gladly, I got the chance to take a peek when the couple who accommodated me in Buguias brought me to the van terminal in Atok, and we had a short stopover at the Highest Point.
It could have been beautiful if the clouds do not cover the large area. It's been cloudy at that time and I am unable to marvel on the beauty of the mountains. Still, there are uncovered parts which you can have a glimpse of.
If only it's not cloudy, the place would be greener. The reflection of the sun in the mountain gives prettier view.
The clouds touches some parts of the mountains. In fact, I felt slight rainshowers. Fortunately, it didn't rain otherwise traveling would be dangerous.
I was in awe as my eyes turn on the mountains. There's a sense of peace within you as you marvel on these beautiful creatures of God.
This is one of the beautiful views while you are at the Highest Point. The landscape looks so beautiful. It's actually the same place on the top photo.
That's me at the right. I admit I am shivering at that time. It's very cold there. I decided to wear shorts because it's hot where I live. But we stayed there for just 10 minutes I think. If you're going to visit Buguias or even Sagada, have a short stopover at the Highest Point.

The last time I was in Baguio it was full of SMOG. My Asawa @lovenfreedom was born in Benguet. We have lots of family there.
Please when you go there pick up some trash and help clean things up. Benguet is a national Treasure of the Philippines we all need to respect the future of the indigenous people from there.
