Hello everyone!
So.. a few months ago my boyfriend and I decided to go away for our anniversary. If you haven't already guessed, we decided on Jamaica. We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay as it was highly recommended by my aunt and uncle.

In all honesty, I wasn't sure what to expect of this vacation. I had never been anywhere tropical. The only other countries I had visited where the United States and Ireland. Ireland on the best of days, is not nearly as warm as Jamaica. My boyfriend reassured me a few times saying that we would have a blast. And you know what? He was right!
Enjoying my time by the pool
The resort was great, the staff was very friendly and the drinks were tasty. The food was really good as well. We enjoyed the Japanese restaurant a lot, although we mainly ate at the buffet for convenience sake. Every night the buffet had a different theme. One of the nights was Canadian themed. I am still a little fuzzy on what is classified as "Canadian" since there was no poutine or bacon in sight. We even went on a few excursions, which I will elaborate on in my next post. We are definitely planning on going back, although I think we will give the "luxury" side a try. Basically the resort is broken into two parts; one side is the all ages/family side while the other is adults only. For our first time we stayed on the all ages side, which was a lot of fun. We made friends with a few other couples from canada as well. The resort also has a private beach so there aren't a lot of people selling things.

We did manage to have a little downtime and played a few boardgames while we were away. As per usual, I dominated at Carcassone! Clearly I can be a tad competitive. We also played some Gloom, which I highly recommend if you enjoy story telling.
All in all, it was a fantastic trip and I would definitely recommend it!
That's it for now,
Jackie
Beautiful photos! I really liked the lizard! Did you invite her? :-)))))
Thank you! Of course I invited her! How could I not? 😄

I would love to get to Jamaica some time, i was close a few years back when on the Caribbean coast in Columbia but couldn't squeeze it in, definitely on the to do list!
It is such a beautiful country. I would definitely recommend going. Next time I think I would check out more of the Nigril area.
