Flores is a favorite destination, because Flores has a complete package of natural beauty and cultural wealth that is very thick and still maintained to this day. For you lovers of the sea, this Komodo National Park area is the warehouse of a beautiful beach and undwerwater champion. If you like culture, I suggest to landtrip from Labuan Bajo until Larantuka is guaranteed to find a lot of culture in the Manggarai community that is still awake to this day
Frankly two months of exploring the beauty of nature and culture of Flores is not enough, but for those of you who have limited leave don't worry. I summarize the destination of destinations on Flores that you can visit all within one week. What are the destination destinations of choice, please read below.
Enjoy Sunset on Kalong Island.
Kalong Island is one of the islands located between a cluster of small islands in the Komodo Island National Park area, East Nusa Tenggara. To get to the island of Flores, you have to travel about 1 hour by sea about 8 km from the port of Labuan Bajo. This island is an uninhabited island. The island is also different from the islands in the Komodo Island National Park area because the geographical appearance of this island of Kalong consists mostly of mangrove plants. As an island of mangrove forests, this island plays an important role in maintaining the marine ecosystem around the Komodo Island.
Kalong Island is the home of thousands of bats, the right time to visit Kalong Island at sunset is around 18:00 or 18:15 WITA. the bats that live on Kalong Island will fly to decorate the twilight sky towards the mainland of Flores Island, With dusk skies and thousands of battered bats making the island's sunset view very epic.
Jurassic Park Padar Island
From the top of this hill you can enjoy the scenery around Padar Island such as a coastal panorama which is divided into three parts. And of course the scene is a very beautiful photo object especially for posting on your Instagram. Yes, this place in the past few years has been very popular among Instagramists, even in my opinion this island has become famous because of Instagram. Although the island is included in the Komodo National Park, visitors may not stay overnight or make tents here. Because he said there are some Komodo dragons that have preyed on humans here, and these dragons were once said to have been moved by the Komodo tribe here. So just be careful when here
Visiting Komodo Dragon
One of the main destinations for visiting Flores is to see Komodo in the Komodo National Park. This island is the original habitat of giant reptile animals which are thought to be ancient animals, namely Komodo. It is estimated that there are more than 2000 Komodo dragons that live on this island. If you visit this island, you will find dragons that roam around the island. In addition, the island is also the only island in the world which is the habitat of Komodo, the only one of the largest and oldest reptiles that still exists in the world.
Besides enjoying nature and seeing Komodo, it turns out that on this island there are also Komodo Tribes who live not far away and are still in this island. These Komodo tribes have lived a long time ago, they live side by side in harmony with Komodo. Their main livelihood is actually wood craftsmen and fishermen.
Todo Traditional Manggarai Community.
The traditional house of the Manggarai community is originally cone shaped, and in Flores to see the original house is quite difficult. Because there are very few Flores people who still maintain the original Manggarai traditional house, to be able to see this traditional house we can see it in two places. Namely Wae Rebo Village and Todo Village, access to the village of Wae Rebo is quite difficult because of the limited access and infrastructure of the road to the village which is fairly difficult. But for those of you who don't have much time can visit Todo Village which is not far from Labuan Bajo.
In the past, Todo village was the center of the kingdom which became the ruler of the Manggarai region at the time, it was seen that there were still relics of ancient cannon in this village. In Todo village there is a cone-shaped traditional house (Niang Todo) building, this traditional house still uses a thatched roof and has wooden floors. This building had undergone renovation because it was damaged by age. But the original form is still maintained and this building is the only historical relic of the Manggarai community that is still preserved to this day.
Cancar when nature and culture converge
Flores does not stop making me amazed, one of my favorite destinations is the expanse of Cancar rice fields. What makes the Lingko Lodok rice fields or Cancar rice fields become the center of attention for tourists due to their shape. When viewed from the top of a hill, this field turns out to be shaped like a spider web. For the best view, you have to climb up the Cara hill or climb from Kampung Meler. The shape of the rice field that resembles the spider web seems to be influenced by the traditions of the local community, Lingko is a customary land that is jointly owned and used to meet common needs. Furthermore, this customary land is distributed to community members in accordance with customary needs.
There is another tradition behind this rice field, which is at the time of planting. The period of farming must be done simultaneously in one village or tribe in all parts of the land. The aim of this is to create community and mutual cooperation. In addition, to minimize plant pests so that all land will get good crops.
Cunca Rami is one of the most beautiful waterfalls on Flores.
Cunca Rami Waterfall is a waterfall that has a unique name. The name of the waterfall comes from the Flores language, the word Cunca, which means waterfall and hemp, which means forest. So the cunca rami waterfall means waterfalls in the forest. This waterfall is indeed located in the middle of a tropical forest namely Mbeliling Forest which is located in Cunca Lolos Village, Sano Nggoang District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
The view on this Cunca Rami waterfall is very beautiful. Around this waterfall there is a pool of water which is about 5 to 7 meters deep with a depth of 12 meters. The water that flows from the waterfall which then collects in the pool is very clear so it is guaranteed to feel like wanting to plunge into the fresh water. do not believe in the beauty of this waterfall, please enjoy the photo and let the photo speak.
