Mauritius is a very small popular island, located in the Indian Ocean opposite the East African coast. Ampts languages are French and English.
The capital city where my journey starts is Prot louis. I stayed mainly on the West Coast during the two-week trip, but I still visited many places they are worth it to see.
In the following, and two more articles I will show my absolute favorite places of the island.
Let's start with the capital city itself. Port Louis, located on the west coast of the island, is easily accessible by car and public transport.
There is so much to discover, in the very busy side streets and on the small street markets, which are already one of the highlights.
Another must see is the rather small Chinatown.
On occasion, one should also explore the shopping mile at the port - Le Caudan Waterfront.
Also on the waterfront is the Blue Penny Museum. Here you can see the Seltenden stamps Blue and Red Mauritius.
You should also plan a detour to the Place d'Armes.
There are no long distances in Port Louis, everything is within walking distance.
All in all it's a great small city. When you are around you should definitely stay some nights there. ;)
