2017 was a very eventful year and the last few month were especially intense, way too much time staring at digital screens. I decided it was time take a road-trip.
So, I packed up my Subaru with a bit of clothes, paints canvases and a Neil Stephenson’s Cryptonomicon audio book, and my trusty jack russell terrier “ Bruno” and headed down to Miami.
While blazing South down the highway somewhere through Georgia, I saw a sign leading to Jekyll Island, the infamous location of the secret meeting of big bankers and shady politicians where they planned the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank. Being a advocate of decentralization, it seemed fitting to check it out.
Once I got there, to my surprise, it wasn’t the cold rocky island of my imagination, covered in constant dark dystopian rain. No, this island was a sunny series of sandy beaches, a beautiful place.
I drove around the island and stopped at a particularly lovely wind swept beach and let Bruno run around. I stood staring off the waves rhythmically crashing on shore and thought “To hell with the Federal Reserve! "
Onward to Miami
