Spent 3 days in Istanbul last week - I was overwhelmed by the beauty and cultural history of the city... Dating back to the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans and the Crusaders, so many influential peoples and empires had their time in this city. Best of all for us, each subsequent group repurposed buildings for their needs, creating a layered feel that makes a walk through the city feel like a walk through time.
