Travel through Old England - Avebury Wiltshire

Recognised as a World Heritage Site for it's outstanding Neolithic and Bronze age landscape Avebury is a place not to be missed. The stone circles and henge monument are particularly unusual, not just for its size but also for the fact that it is the only stone circle with a village buit within it.

Mieszkam ok 20 mil od Avebury, bywam tam dość często. Miejsce doprawdy niezwykłe. Avebury Henge uchodzą za najstarsze kręgi na świecie? Pewnie coś w tym jest. Szczególnie w okresie przesilenia letniego i zimowego przybywają masy ludu.Są też i Druidzi w białych szatach, odbywają sie tańce i śpiewy. Miejscem opiekuje się National Trust, jest tu też bardzo stary kościół i Manor House jak to bywa niemalże w każdej wiosce.
Będziesz w pobliżu - wpadnij naprawdę warto.

    Rzeczywiście piękne miejsce :) Lubię takie stare domy z mnóstwem kwiatów... a krąg, no cóż, na pewno był świadkiem wielu zdarzeń :)

          Your welcome. If you're into standing stones the quarry where the Stonehenge's bluestones come from isn't very far from where I live and yet I still haven't found time to visit :)
