Third castle of this trip. 此旅第三城堡.
We visited Kumamoto castle (the third castle of this winter trip) in Kumamoto City, Kyushu, Japan.
This is one of the Top 10 castles in Japan, beautiful exterior, large castle ground and a rich display of historical artefacts in the castle itself.
今天要向大家介绍我们在日本九州熊本市参观的熊本城，这也是此旅的第三作城堡。
熊本城是日本十大城堡之一，有着美丽的外观，大型的地面和丰富的历史文物展示。
The castle and some surrounding stone walls were damaged by a 6.2 magnitude earthquake, just months after our trip. And so we were rather fortunate to visit before the disaster. Restorations of the castle had begun and is expected to complete by 2019.
在我们到访的几个月后，城堡和一些周围的石墙被6.2级的地震破坏。所以我们很幸运能在灾难之前拜访。

Since then, Kumamoto city had been doing aggressive tourism promotion. We kept seeing advertisements on Singapore and Taiwan Tv, as well as multiple events in public areas promoting the City. And because of that, Kumamon (Mascot for Kumamoto prefecture) is becoming increasingly famous!
地震后，熊本市进行了积极的旅游推广。我们不断在新加坡和台湾电视台看到广告，也在多个活动中看到。正因如此，Kumamon（熊本县的吉祥物）越来越有名了！
Took a photo with one of the samurai on duty. There were quite a few of them. Very friendly and willing to pose for travellers.

Kumamoto Castle is definitely high up on our list of highly recommended castles in Japan, along with Himeji and Osaka castle. Do give it a visit if you are in the Kyushu region.
BUT, take note, seems like the castle is now closed while it undergoes renovation work... You can still see the castle from outside the ground though.

Not visited Kumamoto Castle yet, but will definitely take a trip there next time I'm in Japan. Looks like you had a nice trip, nice selfies! haha
