Fifth post of Hokkaido Series. 北海道之旅第五章。
Tourists to Hokkaido usually arrive at the New Chitose Airport in Chitose.
Did you know that upon arrival, you could actually jump straight into the winter fun by visiting the Chitose North Snowland just 15-minute drive away?
Originally the North Country Golf Club, it turns into a snowland every year from December 29 until early March.
Inside, they offer snow activities such as tube sliding, snow strider, snow cruising, 4-wheel buggy, mini snowmobile, horseback riding on snow, snow rafting, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and even outdoor winter barbeque.
We tried out the ATV snowmobile. The ride was just round the man-made snow circuit and it was quite fun and thrilling!
Next was having a go at skiing! Well, not really skiing. It was just another small circuit without slope. You simply slide above the snow, and we think it is called cross country skiing? Not too sure about that.
The horse here ready to entertain tourists. We didn't try it though.
Moving on to enjoy the scenery of the snow land. The place wasn't flooded with too many people and we were able to enjoy the quietness while taking photos.
And lastly, the highlight of this trip, barbequeing in the outdoor winter! Oil barrels were reused and setup as huge stove. We bought a few packets of meat and vegetables and enjoyed ourselves. It was the first kind of such experience for us.
To get to Chitose North Snowland, just hop on the complimentary loop service by Guru Guru Chitose Winter Bus with specific pick-up points (which includes New Chitose Airport, JR Chitose Station, RERA Premium Outlet, and others). As such, you can conveniently do sightseeing or shopping by riding the Guru Guru Chitose Winter Bus to other designated drop-off points after enjoying yourselves at the snowland.
Chitose North Snowland is recommended by us if you would like to visit a winter themepark that is less touristy and less crowded

这里平时只是一个高尔夫球场，从12月29日到3月初，每年都会变成为雪地。
在这里，提供滑雪活动，例如平地滑雪，4轮越野车，迷你雪地摩托，雪上骑马，雪上漂流，越野滑雪等等，甚至还有室外冬季烧烤。
我们尝试了ATV雪地摩托，非常有趣刺激！还有平地滑雪。不会真正滑雪的我们只能在这做做模样。
雪上乐园的风景非常迷人。这时也没有太多人，我们能够慢慢的拍照，享受宁静。
最后，也是此旅的亮点，是在冬季户外烧烤！油桶被重新使用并设置为巨大的炉子。我们买了几包肉和蔬菜，很开心。这对我们来说是第一次这样的经历。
