Hello fellow steemers.
Kerela, also known as god's own country, is serene, lush and full of life.
The people are humble, the scenery is unexplicable and the food is exquisite.
I recently visited a small village that goes by the name of 'Kalady', about 10 kms from Kochi. (Kochi has an international airport).
Kalady is famous because it is the birthplace of Sri Adi Shankara (788-820 A.D). He is considered the holiest of all saints and the mutts (Ashrams ) that was established by him 1200 years ago exist to this very day. Kalady is on the banks of river poorna, a gentle and clean river that flows further down south. Visit Kalady to know more.
Kalady is just one very very small part of majestic kerela, the next time you plan a vaccation abroad make sure you visit this place and explore culture and cuisine like never before.
A picture of the mutt shot from the inside.
